A layered bamboo art map of the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana, celebrating one of Aotearoa’s most spectacular coastal and island landscapes.
This Matai Gallery small art map captures the sweeping beauty of the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana, from the northern coastline near Waipū through Auckland and across to the Coromandel. Joined by a vast body of water and dotted with islands, bays, beaches and harbour landscapes, the gulf is a place strongly connected to boating, holidays, home, adventure and memory.
This smaller format is based on our larger Hauraki Gulf artwork, making it easier to place while still celebrating the scale, character and meaning of this much-loved part of New Zealand.
Carefully constructed by hand, layer by layer, in our Wairarapa workshop, this four-layer bamboo art map brings depth, texture and warmth to a landscape shaped by sea, islands, coastlines and connection.
Choose from a black or natural frame to suit your space. Made from layered bamboo ply and framed in FSC pine, each map is carefully finished by hand. Due to the handmade construction and natural materials used, each piece may vary slightly from the image shown, making every map unique.
