A layered bamboo art map of Tauranga and the western Bay of Plenty, celebrating the harbours, islands and coastal landscapes of this much-loved region.
This Matai Gallery medium art map captures the western Bay of Plenty, from Whangamatā down to Maketū. Mount Maunganui / Mauao, Tauranga city, Waihi Beach, Mayor Island / Tūhua, Karewa Island and Mōtītī Island are all key features included in the design.
The complex waterways of the inner Tauranga Harbour bring striking detail and depth to this piece, while the full street mapping makes it especially personal for those who live in the area, have family connections there, or hold memories of holidays, boating, beach days and time spent by the sea.
Carefully constructed by hand, layer by layer, in our Wairarapa workshop, this six-layer bamboo art map brings texture, warmth and presence to a landscape shaped by harbour, coastline, islands and memory.
Choose from a black or white frame to suit your space. Made from layered bamboo ply and framed in FSC pine, each map is carefully finished by hand. Due to the handmade construction and natural materials used, each piece may vary slightly from the image shown, making every map unique.
