A layered bamboo art map of The Remarkables, celebrating one of New Zealand’s most iconic alpine landscapes and ski fields.
This Matai Gallery medium art map captures The Remarkables, including the ski lifts, ski runs, Lake Alta and Double Cone. Set above Queenstown, this piece celebrates a place closely tied to winter adventures, mountain memories and the dramatic beauty of the Otago high country.
With thirteen layers, this artwork has remarkable depth and presence, bringing the ridgelines, terrain and contours of the mountain to life. It is a striking piece for skiers, snowboarders, alpine lovers and anyone who feels connected to this unforgettable part of the South Island.
This design can also be seen in real life at The Remarkables ski field café, adding another layer of connection for those who know and love the mountain.
Carefully constructed by hand, layer by layer, in our Wairarapa workshop, this thirteen-layer bamboo art map brings texture, warmth and detail to a landscape shaped by mountain, snow, tracks and memory.
